💻 What I Learnt from Taking Time Off from My Clients (A Freelancer’s Perspective)

Can you really take time off when you’re self-employed?

My answer is: it depends what you mean by “switching off” 😂

Here’s what my recent break looked like:
👉 I wasn’t in touch with my clients.
👉 I didn’t do any work for them.
👉 I didn’t even plan my workload for when I got back.
👉 I didn’t check my emails (I know - shocking!).

And do you know what? My inbox didn’t explode. My lovely clients - the ones I’m lucky to work with - completely understood. ❤️

Now, I was semi-active on Instagram and LinkedIn. I didn’t reply to DMs, but I did share a few stories, post updates, and invite people to the networking events I co-host as a proud Brand Ambassador for The Business Growth Network (BGN) ☕✨

You might be wondering - why stay on socials while you’re away?

Simple:
✨ Because it’s fun.
✨ I love sharing real-life, behind-the-scenes moments.
✨ And honestly, I finally had something different to share than my daily coffee routine 😂

🌴 My Takeaways (for you and me!)

💡 The world won’t stop if you take a break.
💡 Your clients can totally survive without you - they managed before you came along!
💡 They’ll wait for you and appreciate your work even more when you’re back.
💡 You’ll return relaxed (well… as relaxed as possible after a holiday with kids 😅).
💡 Motivation might be slow to start, but once it kicks in - you’ll be unstoppable.
💡 You’ll come back focused, grounded, and ready for the next challenge.

So seriously - don’t wait. Book that well-deserved time off. You need it.

And if you’re panicking about who’ll look after your inbox and calendar while you’re away - I’ve got you 😉
👉 Book a call with me and enjoy your freedom while I handle the admin chaos.

PS: Fun fact - I started writing this blog as an Instagram caption while half-watching Blippi on the sofa 😂 It clearly had bigger plans!

Until next time,
